二十三 [Text & Picture]

I have not had the chance to properly use this system enough, it seems. I hope to change that in the future. Does anyone have any requests for things I should draw? It is a hobby of mine, and I will draw anything you would like.

I had planned on drawing something during this past Halloween, but I grew busy, so I apologize.

The weather seems to be growing colder. How is everyone faring?

[Japan has drawn his dog Pochi and Hanatamago together. The art is by Himaruya, not me, and any other art in this post will most likely be from outside fanart sites.

Also he'll be sitting in his room, drawing on his communicator. Those wanting to do action tags just be aware that his face is all bruised up. :|b]

[In the middle of another sketch, Japan doesn't glance up. A knock could be anyone, but he isn't exactly expecting Norway, so his response is generic.]

Hai, please come in.

[When given consent the door slowly opens, revealing what could presumably be the person Japan least expected. Norway's gaze is neutral, which was normal in itself except for the various blues and blacks smudged over his face, nearly matching Japan's face.

The Nordic waits for the latter to look up before he speaks, calm and quiet.]

I want to talk.

[When the door is opened and there's silence, Denmark is eliminated from the possibilities. Actually, Denmark was probably eliminated when someone didn't come crashing through the doors. Iceland maybe, though? Finland, visiting? Sweden even? He doubted all of these--

And suddenly he glanced up and connected it all. After a bit of silence, he set his communicator to the side.]

...Ah, very well. Where?

Not here. [If there's one thing he learned it's that Denmark's presence can only harm. He can't risk the latter's involvement, and so he pauses to decide on a neutral location.]

The barn. The monsters don't attack there often.

[He nods]

...Alright. [and he stands even, because this is something that needs to be settled now. He'll leave his sword here, too. You know. Just in case... He can defend himself from monsters with his fists..]

[Wow. But Norway notices this as they leave the room, and so he returns the gesture by not bringing a gun. If anything, they could move quickly and return on Freyja. Or use their fists.

When they finally leave the apartment the Nordic remains quiet, his own gesture of letting Japan gather his thoughts before they begin.]

[This is going to be one silent walk to the barn, then. Japan has too much to think about..]

[It takes them about 10 or 15 minutes to reach the barn, having been fortunate enough not to stumble into any monster, and Norway opens the door to see Japan inside before following suit. Almost immediately Freyja trots over, greeting the two nations with a kweh before attempting to nuzzle her forehead against Norway's own. He pats her gently, but is quick to urge her off as he moves deeper into the barn.]

I'd like to know everything, if that's fine. I'll part the same.

[Japan's still quiet at first. He does feel a bit guilty about all of this, but at the core, he's still angry with Norway. Why does he have any right to be angry? He probably didn't. He was just going off of Denmark's word and his own observations.

Anyway.]

...I am not quite sure where to start.

[In a sense, the anger Japan had seen during their last messy encounter was rare in and of itself. But what remained could be considered perpetual annoyance; at least, until they resolved their dispute at the core. So Norway is forward, starting with what he feels is the most important.]

Do ya still like him?

[Immediately, Japan' feeling awkward about the blunt responses that were probably going to be expected. It's necessary, though...

...The problem is, he's not sure what will happen when he answers that there is no direct answer.]

'Like'... ... I am not sure.

[Norway doesn't urge Japan to answer right away, as he wanted this to remain on neutral ground. The answer itself is unsatisfactory, but the Nordic waits a little longer before he inquires.]

Why is it not sure?

I am not used to such things, and it was rather forced to begin with.

[To begin with. Did that mean it changed? Japan wasn't even sure...]

Not many of our kind are.

[Alliances had always been a fickle thing, and even rarer were sound unions. It took a long time to find a compromise, nearly a lifetime's worth of trials, but time shifts differently with humans.]

But it can be started there, then. How it transitioned from a forced beginning.

...Prolonged thought on the issue, along with a certain day in which we spent much time together. [at least, he thinks it changed there... he's pretty sure.]

['Did you confess?' was the first question that came to Norway's mind, but that didn't seem right.]

Why that day specifically?

[H-how to say this gently..]

Ah... many.. actions and words were exchanged. [WAIT THAT'S TOO VAGUE that could sound worse... oh well]

[Staring.]

Did ya fuck again? [/FOREVER BLUNT]

N-n-n-no!!

[Continues staring for a moment before glancing over to the other side of the barn.]

Did he give mixed signals?

I did not see them as mixed.

[pause pause pause]

He kissed me... [trailing off because kgjldfsjg]

[Wow. Yeah, that's not mixed.

The corner of Norway's mouth draws into a thin line at that-a reflex-but nothing more comes from that.]

When was this?

Early August. Ah... he.. had proposed over the network.

It was then. [And that's where inconsistencies lie, he supposes. Or, at least, it seems that way when laid down in a timeline.]

It was talked about before he made that proposal.

...Before then was simply an incident and my trying to make it right. After, it became something to work towards rather than something to force myself through.

...

At least that is what I mistook it for.
