二十三 [Text & Picture]

I have not had the chance to properly use this system enough, it seems. I hope to change that in the future. Does anyone have any requests for things I should draw? It is a hobby of mine, and I will draw anything you would like.

I had planned on drawing something during this past Halloween, but I grew busy, so I apologize.

The weather seems to be growing colder. How is everyone faring?

[Japan has drawn his dog Pochi and Hanatamago together. The art is by Himaruya, not me, and any other art in this post will most likely be from outside fanart sites.

Also he'll be sitting in his room, drawing on his communicator. Those wanting to do action tags just be aware that his face is all bruised up. :|b]

[Continues staring for a moment before glancing over to the other side of the barn.]

Did he give mixed signals?

I did not see them as mixed.

[pause pause pause]

He kissed me... [trailing off because kgjldfsjg]

[Wow. Yeah, that's not mixed.

The corner of Norway's mouth draws into a thin line at that-a reflex-but nothing more comes from that.]

When was this?

Early August. Ah... he.. had proposed over the network.

It was then. [And that's where inconsistencies lie, he supposes. Or, at least, it seems that way when laid down in a timeline.]

It was talked about before he made that proposal.

...Before then was simply an incident and my trying to make it right. After, it became something to work towards rather than something to force myself through.

...

At least that is what I mistook it for.

I see. [It's hard to decipher whether or not the cues Japan mistook were implied or [ignorantly] purposeful, but surely there has to be more than that.]

He made no reference of me n' him during this? Any of it?

He spoke of your past relationship various times.

[He honestly still does not know they were sort of together then. How sad.]

[WOW I'm trying to work up to that you douche. Maybe you should have Japan ask some questions. ANYWAY.

'What of it?' he wants to ask, but it's not the point at the moment.]

So not of everything. [It's a conclusion, but also an implication.]

[WOW FINE. He catches that implication, but doesn't want to assume what it means-- because by now, he probably can, and he doesn't really want to...]

...What do you mean?

[He plans to say without falter but there's a moment's pause, almost an attempt to soften the blow, when it's realized that it isn't all that possible regardless.]

...We had sex not long after he proposed. Days, maybe.

[He realizes his expression probably reveals more hurt than he would like, but he can't do anything about that.

So after a few moments of staring, he shakes his head and glances at the ground.]

A-ah, I-- ...I was not aware.

[Of course he catches that expression, but he says nothing until Japan speaks first, this time pointing out what's obvious.

For the latter's sake he sidesteps the comment before continuing.]

He never said anything about ya. Nothing like that.

[Wow what. a ho.]

[sideglancing now]

Is that how it is...

He's a damned idiot. Stubborn to the root, makes too many mistakes n' thinks that ignoring problems will make 'em go away.

But ya knew that, I'm sure.

... I suppose I did.

Even so, I did not think... [That you two were together so soon? He seemed to talk of problems, so why... He was trying to piece things together, but the only answers that came up were bad news.

And maybe he thought that ignoring would solve things as well.]

Forgive me for my actions, Norway-san. ...I mean this sincerely, though some apologies in the past may not have been. I believe I have gotten into something I did not completely understand.. Ah, I may still not understand it.

[He watches Japan for a while, a part of him not expecting an apology so soon. In retrospect it's almost coincidental that they hadn't known of each other's predicaments, so neither was given a complete picture of the other.

All at once his expression softens, nowhere near remorse, but he's as calm as he's ever been.]

... It's fine. I can't fault you with what's been told.

[But he's not done, not completely. Having admitted to not understanding, Norway continues with what he feels is important.]

I freely call him what comes to mind. Acting grateful was never a priority. Reciprocating affection, saying I was happy... it was never done.

[Not until he came here, but it's all with human instincts, he feels.]

...But I won't hurt him. Not here.

[He watches Norway for a moment, and bows his head. It's like a nod combined with a thanks. ... As long as Denmark wouldn't be hurt again, that would be enough, right?

Well. There was the chance that Norway would vanish. But there was that chance with everyone.]

That is good to hear. [he pauses] Is there anything else you wish to know?

There's plenty to wish. [He begins, all too honest about his opinions.]

But I've asked enough. What of you?

... Did you know of.. us, at that time?

[Of course speaking about Denmark proposing over the network and other public things.. but more specifically, how deep it really was. And ridiculous.]

[It's a question he should've expected considering how both appeared marginally unaware of the other's endeavors, but not completely.]

There's been suspicions, but nothing concrete.

[he wonders if there is more to ask... but then just nods and glances away.]

...I see.

Would you rather I intervened earlier?
