Japan's relationships page. It's still under construction, but I've updated it recently to keep it more organized. This part, of course, will be edited later.

Please note that the suns are no longer the rating system. I am still working on that. Also, now that I've got the code all neat and orderly, I'll be trying my best to add those of you who have commented as soon as possible~!

That being said, if you have had even just one conversation with Japan, please leave a comment here. If you'd like a specific icon, request so. ALSO!! THE PARAGRAPHS AREN'T WEIRDLY SPACED!!! May 12, 2010 ; Tohma was one of the first ones who greeted Japan after arriving in Discedo. Although he's been in the Hospital the entire time, he helped a lot with answering questions, and Japan finds him easy to speak with. He is one of his citizens, which is a big point already-- and on top of that, he seems responsible and kind at heart. From Japan's eye, Tohma's a nice citizen who almost seems to understand him. Each conversation they have lets Japan learn something new about Tohma, and he finds it fascinating to be able to have meaningful discussions. Still, the way Japan holds back his thoughts doesn't allow him to open up so easily.

May 12, 2010 ; Ryuichi and Japan have spoken a few times, though Japan is never quite sure what to make of their conversations. So far, all he knows is the male's name, that he's a rock star, and that he is way too American to be properly Japanese. Really, what is this mixing of cultures. He secretly admires his youth a little.

May 12, 2010 ; To Japan, Suguru comes off as a very hard-working citizen. It actually makes the nation a little proud on the inside, so speaking with him is nice. However, it ends up strictly formal, since the two go back and forth with their bows and business talk. Japan also notices Suguru's love for music, and respects it completely. As a country, love for one's own citizens' music is natural. Chip or not, watching his citizens perform is always nice. Apparently Suguru is Tohma's cousin. Japan had not expected that at first, until he recognized their similar taste in clothing. And those smiles.

America-san → libertyfuckyeah

May 12, 2010 ; America is a fellow country, and so Japan knew him before arriving at Discedo. While his first impression of America was loud and obnoxious, he learned that the guy was actually kind at heart. And then America proceeded to list out a bunch of crazy demands and force Japan to follow. ..That is in the past, though, and once again, Japan has realized that America is kind-hearted. He means well, and so his loud ways are forgiven. (Except when he breaks his window gdi.) The two are close friends-- America played a great role in bringing Japan out of isolation. In Discedo, even when Japan learned of parts of WWII, he spoke with America and they came to an agreement. Japan also went out so far as to say they'd always be friends, no matter what rough times they had. Basically, Japan can put up with America's loudness and even find it endearing (sometimes. SOMETIMES.).

May 12, 2010 ; Japan is not fond of Russia in the slightest. Mostly due to the fact that they are currently at war, with claims of his cruel lifestyle being something that Japan would never support in any way. Japan was taken to Discedo in the middle of the Russo-Japanese war, and so from the start, is suspicious of Russia. He does not trust him with anyone, and will even assist China (who he is on rather shaky terms with currently) in avoiding Russia. Japan does not trust him, and their conversations often bring out a more war-sided part of Japan.

May 15, 2010 ; Though Japan often forgets who Canada is, it's not like he doesn't try. Canada, unlike America, is very polite and considerate, and Japan seems to appear very guilty whenever he forgets him. Because of this, he has written a note to remember his name, next to the communicator. He is trying to remember it without use of the note, and is doing better than normal thanks to being human-- however, still, the progress is slow.

Korea-san → mansae
"Do you remember that one night at your place when we shared a futon?"

May 25, 2010 ; Korea is family. However, Japan has noted that Korea seems to especially hate him. Even so, Korea seems to do things that contradict his words. Because of this, Japan isn't exactly sure what Korea thinks. (He's kind of hard to read, isn't he?) Also, at Japan's point in time, Korea is vital to his interests. You see, he and Russia are currently fighting over Korea's land. (And other things, like Manchuria, mainly, but.) Japan views Korea's land as a necessary "weapon," sort of, to use and gain power. So, he may come off as strict towards Korea, and interested in his affairs during this time period for him. He's a little too strict and violent when it comes to it, though, and he tends to shove him away, so it must be difficult to see that he actually does care for Korea.

May 25, 2010 ; Japan's baby brother. Well, he's not such a "Baby" anymore. (And that bothers Japan, honestly.) During his time at home, Hong Kong was nicer to him, so arriving to greet this attitude was a bit of a shock. Due to it, Japan tends to avoid him when possible, fearing that he's done something horrible. Horrible in the terms of his current mindset-- he's not sure what he's done in the future or why, but Hong Kong obviously has snapped against Japan, somehow. Still, Japan cares for Hong Kong, and while he won't admit it, he's rather jealous of how China's relationship with Hong Kong seems to have improved, while his own only looks like it has gone downhill. He really just wants to have his baby brother back, so he can go along and carefully avoid making him distrust him or whatever it is that happened. At the same time, he understands that whatever he does in the future is a decision of his own (or his boss.. which, he can't help), and he can't change it. So, he's awkwardly trying to accept the changes and improve on them.

May 25, 2010 ; She's very sweet, and Japan is constantly admiring her youth and her overall optimistic.. shine that she gives off. Because of her, he has a new outlook on the term "friend." So, she's kind, sweet, optimistic, friendly-- oh, and Japan can reminisce when speaking with her. Due to her time period, she knows various proverbs and tales that Japan loves speaking about. Naturally she is someone he cares a lot for. After all, they're "pals."

Seifer-san → inyourgarden

May 25, 2010 ; An...unexpected friendship is probably the best wording. Seifer started as a nosy neighbor who ended up helping Japan quite a bit, and it twisted into a sort of not-spoken-mutual-friendship. Seifer seems to care, and Japan definitely notices, but neither choose to speak on it. There's still much that they don't know about one another, but Japan, at least, is willing to both listen and share thoughts. You can say he respects Seifer in a way, though even he isn't sure why, sometimes. Also, he has no idea why Seifer keeps calling him "Hero."

Denmark-san → potatomouth
"God, everyone in Asia is weird. They're all indirect and repressed and short."

May 25, 2010 ; I don't even-- Japan doesn't even know how to describe this relationship. He knew nearly nothing of Denmark to begin with-- only what Holland had told him through news, and what little info he had previously with Denmark. (They're decent trade partners.) But here, they have had various in-depth conversations. While Japan is curious to learn the nature of other countries and obviously listens intently to each word, Denmark doesn't seem to return the favor at all. This can frustrate even the difficult-to-anger nature of Japan. However, Japan can convince himself it is "western nature" and shove his "selfishness" aside for the sake of learning more.

June 12, 2010 ; Japan views Namine as an innocent little girl who is way too interested in Russia. To cocky Imperial Japan, here, that's bad news. Everytime he speaks with Namine, he's sure to ask whether she's been speaking to Russia or not. He will always try to steer her away from him, for fear of her getting hurt. Because no one should speak to Russia--especially cute little girls. Also, one important moment for character relations is when Namine got her chip removed, and Japan was convinced that she was Okinawa. Yep. Awkward times right there. He's been avoiding her for a long time because of that, but is slowly trying to speak to her more.

England-san → mygodmyright
"It's only for my sake, and it's not because I'm lonely or any rubbish like that."

June 15, 2010 ; During Japan's time, he has recently formed a very important alliance with England. Together, they're both lonely island nations that found each other at just the right moment. They get along quite well, and Japan has shown very clearly that he appreciates England as a friend even against the will of his boss. However, at Discedo, England comes from a point in the future where this alliance has ended. That saddens Japan a bit, but it seems like they've managed to stay "temporary allies" against Russia. Japan gladly takes that, assuming it's just England's tsundere way of saying they can still be friends. Japan likes having England as a friend, and despite hearing that this "friendship" ends later on, he wishes to maintain it here at Discedo.

China-san → distantwater

June 16, 2010 ; Their relationship is definitely complicated. China was the one who raised Japan from when he was little, teaching him all kinds of things. Japan was a bratty little child, though, and constantly denied that they were brothers. Still, he did appreciate what China did for him. But when the western powers started becoming too much of a threat, Japan was forced to betray China and.. sort of kind of come to his house with his sword one night and stab the poor man in the back and all sorts of horrible things. Anyway, in Japan's time, the Sino-Japanese war was not too long ago, so times are tense. Not to mention, Japan's trying to keep Russia away from China (Or.. Manchuria, rather) at all costs. But China is from the future, and so due to the situation, Japan's trying to keep things relatively less tense. It's hard sometimes. Basically they are an awkward bubble of tension and love.

June 16, 2010 ; Not sure what you can really write about a dog. But Japan thought this ~~puppy~~ doggy was cute from the start. He gave him permission to visit whenever he wants, and finds it strange that the dog seems to somehow understand. Basically, cute dog is cute. What more can you really say?

Haru-kun → moarcowbell

June 16, 2010 ; Japan and Haru hit it off right away. Haru's a troll, Japan's trollbait.. And their talk of being old can be the topic of conversation for hours upon hours. Japan loves talking with Haru because he's very kind, and there seems to be something behind the surface that he can't quite put his finger on. So not only does he enjoy the company and circling conversation about how "old" they are, he realizes there is more depth to Haru and is eager to figure it out. Plus! Haru is his citizen, and that's always a good thing!

Sweden-san → rules_the_north

June 16, 2010 ; Japan doesn't know too much about Sweden. He knows he's tall and terrifying, and likes to think that beneath that scary surface is so much deredere that the world would implode did it ever show itself. ...Yes, really. But, even when they do speak with each other, Sweden does not say much. Japan hopes that Sweden forgives him for the whole.. drawing him with his brother thing, and is completely unaware that Sweden is trying to set him up with someone. In the meantime, he's naive and happily convinced that Sweden has left it behind him. Actually, Japan thinks Sweden is kinder than Denmark in that he actually listens when he talks and makes a decent drinking buddy. ..He's very fatherlike and mature, in Japan's eyes, and he respects that.

Germany-san → brotundbier
"Please tell me you haven't lost your mind like Dänemark."

June 16, 2010 ; Germany is very reliable. Japan likes this about him. However, back in 1904, Germany decided to be a jerkface and completely disregard Japan's warnings for the sake of an alliance with Russia. Japan cannot forget this. So, while Germany in Discedo is from the future and claims that he is no longer allied with Russia, Japan is a bit hesitant. He's heard they allied in the future to fight against others, but.. it's hard to know when you haven't experienced. Basically, this relationship to Japan is a little shaky. A good reliable friendship that's there if things are a bit shaky, but not the spill-your-feelings type relationship. And he's secretly watching Germany's interactions with Russia. Call it a minor lack of trust? BUT HE STILL LIKES GERMANY. It's just not that close friendship that happens after WWII.

June 16, 2010 ; Every time they've spoken, Japan seems to get a weird vibe from this guy. He hasn't really said anything too bad, though, so Japan doesn't mind speaking with him. He's a citizen, and so of course it's interesting to hear his thoughts. Actually, Japan would like to hear more about him, even though he says some things that catch him off guard every now and then. (cough Noa is a creeper cough). ...Basically, Noa seems like.. a nice kid... if a little different on his thought process, and Japan would love it if they would speak more often because he is curious.

June 16, 2010 ; They've only spoken a couple of times, but Japan finds Sakura to be adorable. She's a cute innocent Princess. So, there are a few goals that come with this. One, protect her from Russia. Two, shield her from the horrors of the world. Three, never show her the bad drawings.. (Those aren't horrors of the world okayyy.) He'd like to be able to speak with her again, and hasn't done so recently simply because a lot has been on his mind. And he really doesn't want the basis of their potential friendship to be him hiding in a blanket. He will probably gradually start speaking with her more in order to accomplish those three goals. Yup.

Haruka-san → onikui_haruka
"I can't trust humans. They attack you, try to imprison you or become afraid once they can see what you really are."

June 16, 2010 ; Because Japan's first real meeting with Haruka was due to Kantarou suggesting it in order to draw him, Japan's first impression is simply "handsome." ..Yes. However, after speaking with him for a while, Haruka is a bit interesting to Japan. Not to mention only recently, he discovered that he was actually a youkai, and Japan flipped out like the fanboy he is and started apologizing for not realizing previously. Needless to say, Japan really would like to know more about Haruka, especially now that he knows he is a youkai. It's just.. interesting. Still, they haven't talked enough for it to be more than "handsome youkai" right now.

Ichinomiya-san → kan_chyan
"The future sounds like an amazing place."

June 16, 2010 ; Kantarou is from 1926, so Japan was really glad to meet him. They first met talking about the future and its strange devices, and since then they've had a couple of conversations off and on. Kantarou seems overall a kind person, though Japan does not know much aside from surface conversation. He is a citizen and Japan would like to know more, however. Also, Japan apparently drew a picture of Haruka for Kantarou, so now he sort of pictures those two as a pair or something. Who even knows. Point is, Kantarou is a nice guy from the close future, and Japan appreciates his nice conversation and enjoys reminiscing with him.

Sealand-kun → im_a_country_2

June 16, 2010 ; Japan doesn't recognize Sealand as a country, but he does notice him at least, unlike some people. In canon he.. hesitantly gave Sealand a nod (with England staring like a creeper.) Here in Discedo, Sealand is one of the few people that told him good things about his future. He appreciates that. Sealand may be loud and active, but Japan can maintain his calm demeanor while talking to him, allowing him to either distract the kid or discover what's on his mind. Japan thinks Sealand is sort of cute, but really loud.

Riku-kun → boo_boo_b_gone
"I live in Japan with Mama."

June 16, 2010 ; Riku is a cute baby. Japan loves cute things. Therefore, Japan loves Riku. Kind of. They haven't really spoken much, but if Japan notices him on the network, he'll try to say hello. Japan loves quiet kids who are neat and listen when you speak to them and sob why is Riku such a perfect child, why couldn't certain other people be so cooperative. He doesn't expect this relationship to go much forward past "cute baby and guy who tries to be a grandpa," but that's not a bad thing at all.

Teutonic Order-san → teutons
"DRAW ME KICKING CUMAN ASS."

June 16, 2010 ; Japan knows Teutonic Order as Prussia, or East Germany. It's a bit strange seeing him so small again, but, it's kind of adorable in its own way, too. Teutonic Order seems very lively, and doesn't seem to dislike Japan (because he keeps avoiding telling him he's not Christian), and apparently he's even Teutons' official artist. Japan is honestly not sure whether babby Prussia is easier to deal with than older Prussia. It seems the only difference is height, sometimes. In any case, Japan likes Teutons and will continue to attempt to stay on his good side and humor him by avoiding the subject and drawing him kicking ass.

June 16, 2010 ; Ukraine is incredibly moe. And it bothers Japan to no end, because she is the enemy. Or, the enemy's sister. THE ENEMY'S HOT SISTER WHO IS LIKE EVERY ANIME-LOVING MAN'S DREAM.. I don't think anime is invented yet, but you know Japan. He likes girls like Ukraine or Lichtenstein, if you're talking looks, so let's just say speaking with Ukraine is very awkward for him. Especially when she acts so kind to him. He tries to avoid her as much as he can, but it's impossible for him to just pass up her kindness (or if she needs help sob), so they will likely speak much more in the future.

June 16, 2010 ; Yuugi is an adorable naive little citizen. Japan has just met him recently, but he hopes to speak with him more. Yuugi already seems to trust him, and told him about his puzzle and stuff. This fascinates Japan more than anything else (as do most things with two personalities...), and he wishes to learn more. At the same time, he's going to let it happen naturally. Also, Japan's a bit worried about Yuugi's naivete. So, there's something of a protection vibe here. He wants to keep the kid safe.

Minagawa-san → spooktalk
"This air of formality and tact suits you quite well."

July 29, 2010 ; The two apparently met through Korea, in a log that never went up. ...But yes, Minagawa is an interesting character. Japan doesn't know too much about him, actually. He simply realizes that he's a bit mysterious, and though his words are quite kind, the country isn't positive if he should trust him. This is mainly because he has a strangely dark air about him. All in all, Japan appreciates him, and can often look to speak to him with intelligent discussion. Still, he hopes to avoid any conversation on alcohol with the male.

July 29, 2010 ; Japan doesn't know much about Chopper personally, except that he's a really adorable little talking reindeer thing, and he's a doctor. Also that he apparently loves Japan's uniform. He seems very reliable, and is actually the first person to come in mind when Japan thinks of doctors within the city-- somehow. Still, a cute little reindeer performing medical duties? ... Nope, doesn't weird out Japan. It must be his creative imagination.

Taiwan-san → bubbleteatime

July 29, 2010 ; Taiwan was Japan's first colony, and that's really an important part of their relationship. Taiwan is sort of like the spoiled first child. S-sort of. Japan's treatment of colonies is never the best. Still, Taiwan got the nicest. She's his ~*~important sister~*~ and he's always trying his best for her. He can get very harsh and demanding and downright bossy, but he really believes it is the best for both of them. Now in Discedo, Taiwan looks so much older, and it's.. a bit unnerving. Especially when he realizes that she is no longer his colony. The entire thing is just shocking, disappointing, and so he avoids the topic. Talking to her here has made him a bit sad, because he longs to go back and make things right-- since apparently Korea and Hong Kong hate him now, and he doesn't want Taiwan to hate him either. Actually, he's not even sure what her feelings for him are, currently, and he's a bit afraid to ask. BASICALLY, his feelings on the matter are very complicated and laced with contradictions. Something like "I care about you I'm sorry if I do anything!" one minute, and "SHUT UP AND LISTEN" forcefulness the next. And he's been hiding that second part.

July 29, 2010 ; Anri first mistook Japan for Prime Minister. After they cleared that up, though, she was immediately interested in sword lessons, and he took her on as a student. They had begun to get to know each other in that way, day by day each morning, when she suddenly vanished from the city. Japan's a bit sad, but at the same time, he's really relieved that she could get back to wherever she was. Maybe she could protect that "someone" when she was back home.

July 29, 2010 ; Japan doesn't know much about Sai, and he actually feels pretty bad about it. They've spoken a few times, and Sai seems kind enough, but those ears are just too distracting. Really, the country's ashamed that he can't hold conversation without thinking about the ears. And those r's. THOSE R'S. ...Nations can be easily distracted, too.

July 29, 2010 ; Afu is such a moe little nation. Japan finds her very adorable. About relations as countries, Japan has only heard of Afghanistan in his own world. He knew enough to realize that she was not the same one-- and now that he realizes there must be multiple worlds with countries, this fascinates him. He wishes to know more about not only that world, but Afu in general. ...She's so cute.

July 29, 2010 ; Tetsu is a cute little puppy. Okay so Japan and Tetsu met when Okita died. Tetsu had been alone in the room, and Japan came and escorted him home and made him dinner and basically distracted him from it all and cheered him up. Since then, Japan has grown to think of Tetsu as a student. He does teach him English, and he tries his best to be a good role model. ...Still, not sure if he's such a great model. ~~Also I really can't make up my mind what Japan calls him kfdgjkd~~

Falkner-san → prefersflight
"...Perhaps it is something we can work on together. Finding clothes for the less fashionable to wear."

July 29, 2010 ; So right now, Japan sees Falkner as an ally in fashion. He was impressed when he saw Japan in his Meiji uniform, and Japan immediately deemed him as someone with great taste. They went on to plot the ~~mass control~~ redesign of Discedo and its fashion. ...So basically, as a person, Falkner is nice, pretty cool, and the one that Japan will speak to if he needs some fashion talk. It should probably also be noted that he's from that weird world where they have pokemon, and Japan finds that completely fascinating.

Susumu-san → personalninja

July 29, 2010 ; Susumu isn't very talkative at all. Japan met him when he was zapped while perching on the roof of a building. Who even knows. They've spoken a few times since then, but never too deeply, so Japan doesn't know very much about the male. What he does know is that he claims to be from 1864, and it's actually very nice to have people that are from a time in his past. Especially if those people are citizens.

July 29, 2010 ; What Japan knows about Iceland is mainly from Denmark. Which may or may not be a good thing. Relationships currently with the nordics in his time are simple. He knows of them but not about them. But here, he's spoken to Iceland a few times, and surprisingly, he's found he doesn't trust him too much. It's probably his straightforward attitude, and his lack for kindness to Denmark. (Yes Japan is cruel towards people and is a hypocrite okay.) He tries to be open-minded when they speak, though.
