[The camera clicks on, and there's a very focused Japan before he realizes the light has flashed on and bows his head a little. He's sitting in his room, hands now on his lap politely.]
Um, is this working? It seems to be...
Hello, everyone. Oh, um, I am the country of Japan, for those who have not met me. ..I hope I am not troubling anyone.. but it seems that failure to use these devices results in... rather unsettling shocks. That, and.. I wanted to properly learn how to use this device. It's so strange... so small, how can it do all of these things...
If you do not consider it a waste of time, perhaps those of you that have been here longer than I could answer a few questions?
Um, I suppose simple conversation is welcomed as well, if anyone is interested in that. It would at least... provide practice for using this device, as well as company.
Thank you all for your time..!
[Another little bow, and he ends the feed.]

I do my best to remember the names of those I meet, yes.

Date: 2010-04-09 07:27 am (UTC)If you want technology first, you go to Japan. Things like video games and manga sell quite well, too. A lot of foreigners actually import the original product due to impatience or love of "the original." So, we're definitely on top in that area.
I'm honored! Although I'm not really sure what I should call you. Is Japan-san okay? Would you like something else? Do you make more of an effort to learn the names of Japanese citizens?

Date: 2010-04-09 07:34 am (UTC)Ah, you may call me Japan.. Japan-san is just fine. Um.. I have a human name, as well, but I am afraid that may complicate things...
...I do not know if I would say "more of an effort." Perhaps, instead, that Japanese names are easier for me to recall. That may be the case.

Date: 2010-04-09 07:45 am (UTC)It doesn't matter what my preferences are. If you have a particular name you favor, I'll call you that.
That makes sense. Western names in particular are more difficult to remember, aren't they?

I suppose Japan is just fine. I will save my human name for a time when it is necessary..
Western names are quite difficult, yes.

Date: 2010-04-09 08:09 am (UTC)Japan-san it is. [ Okay. He kind of lied. Nobody gets away from Tohma without getting an honorific. ]
Most Western names are horrible sounding. They're not poetic and they're difficult to say.

Date: 2010-04-09 08:11 am (UTC)Hm.

Um, if you don't mind me asking.. Where are you?
[ Audio // Japanese ]
Date: 2010-04-09 08:14 am (UTC)Western names.. they are interesting, aren't they? [He hesitates] I somehow think someone from America-san's place would not be aiming to be "poetic".. It seems more like they would want to.. stand out. I suppose it makes sense, if you think about the countries..

Date: 2010-04-09 08:17 am (UTC)I like to think I have gotten the hang of it.. The basics, in any case. I plan on learning about it thoroughly.
