[The camera clicks on, and there's a very focused Japan before he realizes the light has flashed on and bows his head a little. He's sitting in his room, hands now on his lap politely.]

Um, is this working? It seems to be...

Hello, everyone. Oh, um, I am the country of Japan, for those who have not met me. ..I hope I am not troubling anyone.. but it seems that failure to use these devices results in... rather unsettling shocks. That, and.. I wanted to properly learn how to use this device. It's so strange... so small, how can it do all of these things...

If you do not consider it a waste of time, perhaps those of you that have been here longer than I could answer a few questions?

Um, I suppose simple conversation is welcomed as well, if anyone is interested in that. It would at least... provide practice for using this device, as well as company.

Thank you all for your time..!

[Another little bow, and he ends the feed.]

It's a little funny, seeing you of all people unsure of technology.

If you need any questions answered, I'll do my best to answer them for you.

Americans typically complain about Japan coming up with newer technology first and how they are the second to get it. Then the UK complains about being the last to get everything because of being the PAL region.

Ah, I see you remembered my name.

Yes, really~ [ WE ARE AHEAD OF THEM BY SO MUCH! ...Although they do crush us in several areas. But those don't matter. Who needs Shakespeare? ]

If you want technology first, you go to Japan. Things like video games and manga sell quite well, too. A lot of foreigners actually import the original product due to impatience or love of "the original." So, we're definitely on top in that area.

I'm honored! Although I'm not really sure what I should call you. Is Japan-san okay? Would you like something else? Do you make more of an effort to learn the names of Japanese citizens?

Ah, I've been here for a while now. Almost a year actually.

I think it must be because I know too much.

It takes at least two weeks to shock you, normally. Though I suppose they might make an exception for you.

Video games and manga are forms of entertainment, something else Japan as pretty good at.

It doesn't matter what my preferences are. If you have a particular name you favor, I'll call you that.

That makes sense. Western names in particular are more difficult to remember, aren't they?

[His secret plot is to make you hate him so much that he'll be the last island you'll want in your Japanese Empire.]

That's why I told you.

[Okay then, we'll just sabotage things from the inside to make sure you don't get anyone else then. :|]

... Yes.

It's amazing isn't it!? I don't question it very much anymore. Especially after so many people said they had telephones they could put in their pocket and use anywhere. It's still hard to picture, I suppose they must be like these devices we have.

But, I wouldn't worry, they're pretty easy to get the hang of.

You should be! It's definitely something to look forward to and it's only going to get better, I'm sure.

Japan-san it is. [ Okay. He kind of lied. Nobody gets away from Tohma without getting an honorific. ]

Most Western names are horrible sounding. They're not poetic and they're difficult to say.

That's the least of it too. The things people have told me. What was that one thing... ah! Yes. They have this box thing, and it uses waves to cook food really fast, literally in minutes. The future sounds like an amazing place.
