brbmodernizing | 五 [Accidental Video]

[The camera turns on as the device falls over a little, giving a rather interesting view of Japan, huddled in the corner of the room, papers all around him. Not just any papers-- art. They were drawn on. Filled with pictures.

Many strange pairings are scattered about in the pile. (Those are innocent, by the way. His drawings. Are not.) Not just those pictured, but obscure ones you can't even imagine. Have some Tohma/Suguru, Liz/Canada, Seifer/his gun (don't ask about that one). But, whatever you can imagine-- if Japan has spoken with you, you might be here. The more he's spoken with you, the more you seem to be included. Denmark, Tohma, and America.. I feel for you. His family.. should be used to this.

Japan doesn't seem to notice that his communicator fell over, and is smiling a little as he draws. He's not speaking to himself, but he does pause on the occasion to tap a pencil against his chin.

It's when he has just finished a nice picture of Denmark and Sweden that he notices the camera peering over his beautiful drawings. Immediately he reaches over, panic on his face, and shuts it off. MAYBE NO ONE SAW.]

(ooc: I find it necessary to be noted that while I was searching for pictures of pairings that would make the characters squirm, I found art that should never exist. Also, you need pixiv to view them all properly, sorry!)

Ah, yes. America-san has vowed to help me, and England-san, while less forward about it, is very much against Russia-san as well. Sweden-san, too, seemed interested in an alliance, though we haven't done anything official..

It is rather difficult to be "official" here, after all.

[He stops a bit confused for a moment. Oh. Right. He did ~~be an ass~~ ask for that didn't he. He does note the drooping shoulders and while it's not often you see Seifer looking a bit put out, he does this once. For once he wasn't actually trying to be an asshole, but he's kind of really done it to Japan today hasn't he.]

...Tch, I ain't in a hurry. Got a little carried away.

[He turns back and sits down at the table.]

[Japan hesitates, then moves to grab the tea before setting it out at the table and joining him in sitting.]

Surely you have a lot on your mind. I don't mind. [Well he had been a bit sad but he's not about to say that.]

Not really. Being in Discedo's just doing all the work I never wanted to do. Nothing much, the volume's just annoying.

[He takes one of the cups, but doesn't drink it, just sort of slowly rolling it back and forth between his hands still feeling like a bit of an ass. Social small talk isn't exactly his forte either, amazingly enough.]

So what do you do on Earth when you're not waging war and drawing disturbing pictures.

[Japan stays quiet and listens. He's very good at that, you know. At the mention of pictures, he visibly tenses and takes a sip of tea. When he's set the cup down, he looks back to Seifer.]

Ah, well.. While there are many things to do, even sitting under the cherry blossom trees with Pochi is nice. [..he misses his dog.]

... Mm, so I suppose, it would depend what sort of things you mean to ask about. I am not very outgoing. Until recently, I haven't..

[The day Seifer confides anything that isn't business to anyone in Discedo is the day Fortuna finally gives up the ghost and falls apart. But it's nice that Japan's willing to listen anyways. Seifer smiles a bit at Japan's reaction to the mention of his pictures; why are you so easy to mess with Japan.]

Not where you might think. My boss is the ruler of Japan. Ah, he tells me what to do. What I can or cannot do.. And what I can or cannot think. The extent of my involvement would be speaking with other countries, participating in war, and the like; all strictly actions of effect.

The causes, the rules-- I do not make those, nor do I aid in making them.

[Merely the pieces on one side of a Shogi board. He is not the hand.. Mm, but speaking this and revealing his thoughts would be strange, wouldn't it?]

[Seifer's hands tighten on his cup a little at Japan's words; if that doesn't sound familiar... It takes him a moment, but he calms down and finally drinks some of the tea himself.]

[Japan might be staring at Seifer's hands over the rim of his own glass.]

Ah, well, yes. To deny it would be to deny my own existence.

Just like I cannot change the affects on my body, I cannot change my role in the world. [He hesitates and sets his teacup down.]

Do not get me wrong-- I love my country. Ah, I love representing it, and I will do my best to grow to my strongest, for the sake of my people.

[Seifer slowly makes himself stop gripping his cup so tightly and return to a more casual grip. This isn't exactly the sort of topic he ever expected to discuss with Japan. Or anyone honestly, not even his posse back home. Even if they're discussing Japan and not him, it's making him a little sick.]

[Japan is of course noticing the change in atmosphere, but he isn't going to pry. He may.. hint at prying a bit later, but it's not like he expects much.]

Emperor Meiji. There are many others in government who have their say, but he is officially my boss. Since 1867.
